A research programme covering the areas of protein
structure, stability and design. It is headed up by Stephen
L Mayo.
Goal
Development of an unbiased, quantitative design algorithm
based on the physical properties that determine protein
structure and stability and not limited to specific folds or
motifs.
Achievements
They have developed an algorithm, called ORBIT to design
original sequences for entire proteins. They have also been
able to experimentally validate that these proteins fold
into the correct structures.
